Google: Goats More Carbon Friendly Than Lawnmowers

Google will be using a herd of goats to “mow” the lawns of it’s California Headquarters. Apparently, Yahoo is doing the same thing. It’s a great, low carbon, low noise-pollution approach to the grass mowing issue, and is a great public relations stunt in this environmentally conscious world.

The 200 goats can be seen wondering the lawns, the the reactions from employees have thus far been positive. Thought I am not sure what the people who would have made money mowing the lawns would say about this. I can just picture a union blockade trying to keep the goats from their meal. I see horns to the crotch.

Yahoo To Cut 5% Of Workforce

Yahoo is cutting 5% of it’s workforce, even though they posted earning in line with Wall Street expectations, and saw their share prices jump up by 5%. With all the cutting that has already been done, it’s curious why they need to cut staff if they are doing okay, which is as well as expected by analysts. Gotta make room for those CEO bonuses somehow I guess.

Yahoo Engineer Turns Gun on Family and Self

In another sad and sickening murder-suicide, an engineer for Yahoo killed most of his family and himself. The only surviving member of the family was the wife, who was shot numerous times and left in critical condition. How does someone point a gun at an 11 month old baby and pull the trigger?
