A stunt being filmed for the new Nicolas Cage movie, “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice”, in Times Square, New York has gone horribly awry when a car smashed through a restaurant window lightly injuring 2 people.

“On site production medics responded immediately and two pedestrians were taken to the hospital for evaluation”, this according to the press release from Walt Disney Pictures, who is the producer of The Sorcerer’s Apprentice. Due for release in 2010, “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice” is the story of a college student reluctantly recruited to work for a sorcerer, played by Cage. Set in contemporary New York, it is based on the segment of the same name from the Disney animated film “Fantasia.” Really? Nicolas Cage as a sorcerer?

The car was a Ferrari and it smashed into the front of an Italian restaurant, which is a slighty funny twist to the story. The driver was not injured, but am betting he wishes he was as it would get him more pity. A 23-year old man suffered a head injury after a pole fell on him and a 21-year old woman complained of a foot injury. Both were taken to the hospital for minor injuries.

I wonder if the restaurant’s insurance pays for the Ferrari, or if the Ferrari’s insurance has to pay for the restaurant.

No matter what you may think of Woody and his relationship with his wife/former adopted daughter, he is getting extorted in the most obvious way by American Apparel. American has used a likeness of Woody Allen from a movie where he played a religious Jew, in it’s new billboard and online ads.

How classless, tacky and desperate must your business be, if you use an actor’s image in a commercial, don’t compensate him, and then threaten to bring up and scrutinize every detail of his life when he is unhappy about being your freebie poster-boy?

Just how low class is American Apparel? This low class, “American Apparel lawyer Stuart Slotnick said the company plans to make Allen’s relationships to actress Mia Farrow and her adopted daughter Soon-Yi Previn, whom Allen married, the focus of a trial scheduled to begin in federal court in Manhattan on May 18.”

How arrogant and pathetic can American Apparel really be you ask? This arrogant and pathetic, “Woody Allen expects $10 million for use of his image on billboards that were up and down in less than one week,” Slotnick said. “I think Woody Allen overestimates the value of his image.”

We all missed the memo where lawyers have been given the authority to decide what someone’s image is worth. What a piece of work this lawyer is. You use his image without permission, and then you bitch about how much he wants for it? He should have said 100million and then expected you to pay for it, and in my eyes it would be completely justified. This is why anyone older than 10, will asks what something costs before they use it. It is akin to going into an expensive restaurant, ordering a bunch of random stuff without looking at the menu or prices, and then bitching when your bill is too high. To top it off, I then threaten to sue you and stomp your family name into the ground when you say that I should have looked at the prices before gorging myself on what clearly does not belong to me.

Hey, Mr. Jerkoff lawyer, your negotiation window closed the second you used his picture. You can’t negotiate backwards.

A New York state family of 5 had a close encounter of the antler kind, when a deer they hit went through the windshield and into the back seat of the family car.

Heather Sherman says she, her boyfriend, her two daughters and her mother were driving Saturday night in the town of Coeymans when an oncoming car hit the deer, sending it into their windshield. Sherman says she and her boyfriend were covered in blood after the impact. They pulled over, and when she went to the back of the SUV to get a blanket and paper towels, she found the dead doe in the vehicle’s cargo area. The deer flew past Heather and her boyfriend in the front seats and her daughters and mother in the back seats.

No one in the SUV remembered ducking.

This could have been the first decapitation by deer in history, but this writer is glad that a tradegy has not occured. Unless you are a PETA member, then the dead deer is a tragedy, and the people would have just been collateral damage.
