A stunt being filmed for the new Nicolas Cage movie, “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice”, in Times Square, New York has gone horribly awry when a car smashed through a restaurant window lightly injuring 2 people.
“On site production medics responded immediately and two pedestrians were taken to the hospital for evaluation”, this according to the press release from Walt Disney Pictures, who is the producer of The Sorcerer’s Apprentice. Due for release in 2010, “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice” is the story of a college student reluctantly recruited to work for a sorcerer, played by Cage. Set in contemporary New York, it is based on the segment of the same name from the Disney animated film “Fantasia.” Really? Nicolas Cage as a sorcerer?
The car was a Ferrari and it smashed into the front of an Italian restaurant, which is a slighty funny twist to the story. The driver was not injured, but am betting he wishes he was as it would get him more pity. A 23-year old man suffered a head injury after a pole fell on him and a 21-year old woman complained of a foot injury. Both were taken to the hospital for minor injuries.
I wonder if the restaurant’s insurance pays for the Ferrari, or if the Ferrari’s insurance has to pay for the restaurant.
