Antartic Ice Shelf Thickest In 10 years

The apparent imminent break off of the Wilkins ice shelf in Antarctica has gotten a lot of press in the past few weeks. What we have not heard, is what is going on in the rest of the continent of Antarctica. Ice is expanding in much of Antarctica, contrary to the widespread public belief that global warming is melting the continental ice cap. Unfortunately environmental groups and advocates rarely give the full story, and rarely wish to open the interpretation of collected data up for debate.

The full findings will be published in the uber exciting sounding, Geophysical Research Letters.
