Can’t copy messages to SD card on a Blackberry

I’ve been a Blackberry user for just over a year now and so far I’ve been pretty happy. Whenever there is a problem with my phone, I call Rogers and they quickly send me a replacement. The last time they even sent me an upgrade! I have discovered something that really bothers me though. When the Blackberry receives messages, SMS, EMAIL, MMS it stores them internally. This is an issue if you recieve a lot of emails daily and like being able to archive them. I frequently find myself on the road, searching for an email from as long as 5 months back. Storing these messages using the Blackberry’s internal memory is a huge problem when you start to run out of space. The blackberry automatically starts to delete messages in order to allow new ones to come through, and there is no option to store your messages on the micro SD card.

RIM has really dropped the ball on this. I understand the security reasons for not allowing messages to be copied to a memory card if you’re on an enterprise server, but I am not.

I want my messages saved forever and I should have that choice. It is for this reason and this reason alone that I am now looking for a new PDA. One that will allow me to move my information wherever the hell I want.
